Jack Leech had a problem that thousands of bedroom producers know too well.
His ideas were good. His melodies were emotional. His sound design was getting there. But every time he bounced a track and stacked it up against Illenium, Said the Sky, or Dabin, something was off.
His mixes weren’t loud enough. They weren’t clean enough. And they definitely weren’t ready for a label.
The gap between “pretty good” and “commercially competitive” is deceptive. It sounds small. It’s not. Most producers get stuck there for years, tweaking the same parameters, watching the same tutorials, getting nowhere. Some never cross it.
Nurko crossed it in months.

The Starting Point
Before the Masterclass, Nurko was already putting in the work. He had raw talent for melody and emotion. What he lacked was the technical framework to get his music where labels would actually pay attention.
The specific issue? Loudness and clarity.
His tracks couldn’t be pushed to commercial loudness without falling apart. The low end got muddy. The stereo image collapsed. The transients disappeared. Every producer who’s tried to slam a limiter on a mediocre mix knows exactly what this feels like.
He didn’t need more inspiration. He needed someone to show him the technical blind spots he couldn’t see on his own.

The Breakthrough
Two things changed everything for Nurko during the Masterclass.
First: structured feedback from people who actually knew what they were talking about.
Before the program, Nurko was doing what every producer does. Posting tracks in Discord servers, asking friends for feedback, getting a mix of conflicting opinions that made things worse, not better. The Masterclass gave him access to instructors who could pinpoint exactly what was wrong and exactly how to fix it.
Second: techniques that aren’t on YouTube.
One example that stuck with him: manually fading sub-bass to the kick drum instead of relying on sidechain compression. Most producers sidechain their sub and call it done. But sidechain compression always leaves a small residual under the kick that causes distortion when you push the limiter hard.
Nurko’s approach now: crank the limiter threshold until you hear distortion, then manually draw volume fades under each kick hit until the distortion disappears. Turn the limiter off. The result is a surgically clean low end that can be pushed louder without breaking.
That’s the kind of detail that separates a bedroom mix from a release-ready master.

The Sound
Nurko’s signature is melodic bass with emotional weight. Soaring vocal chops over heavy sub-bass drops, with enough harmonic complexity to reward repeated listening.
What makes his sound distinctive isn’t any one technique. It’s the combination of strong music theory fundamentals (he plays piano), atmospheric sound design (he released an entire sample pack of his signature textures), and the mixing precision he developed during the Masterclass.
The result: tracks that sit comfortably next to the biggest names in melodic bass without sounding like copies.

The Results
The numbers tell the story:
- 500K+ monthly listeners on Spotify
- 143M+ total streams across platforms
- 10+ label signings including major releases
- 20+ festival sets including sold-out arenas and major festivals
- Music as sole income (he quit his day job)
But the number that matters most is harder to quantify: Nurko went from a producer who knew his music wasn’t ready to a producer who knows it can compete with anyone in his genre.
That confidence changes everything. How you approach every session, every mix, every submission.

The Gap Nobody Talks About
Nurko’s story isn’t about talent. Talent is everywhere.
His story is about identifying the specific gap between where he was and where he needed to be, then finding the right environment to close it. For him, that gap was technical. Loudness, clarity, low-end management. For other producers, it might be arrangement, sound design, or finishing tracks.
The pattern is the same: figure out what’s actually holding you back, then get help from someone who’s already solved that problem.

In His Own Words
We asked Nurko a few questions about his experience.
What made you sign up for the Hyperbits Masterclass?
I wanted to get my mixes to be able to be pushed to commercial loudness but still sound fantastic like some of the bigger artists in the industry.
How has it helped your sound or career?
It has allowed me to achieve my goals of getting my tracks to compete with the big artists I look up to. There are so many techniques you learn here that nobody else talks about.
If someone was not sure about pursuing their dreams as an artist, what would you say?
Life is short. Do what you love. Why wouldn’t you do something that makes you truly happy?

Nurko built his signature sound inside the Hyperbits Masterclass. If you’re a producer stuck in that gap between “pretty good” and professionally competitive, it’s the same program and the same framework that got him there.
What closes that gap fastest is producers who have already crossed it hearing your tracks. See how music production coaching at Hyperbits works.
